Highlights of the survey results:

A total of 583 survey responses were received |
 |
53 Responses were considered invalid as they did not answer the
key question (i.e. which option do you prefer?) or did not provide an address
for validation. The information from these surveys has not been included in the
report. A further 6 had incomplete, confusing or unreadable answers. |

524 complete, valid surveys were received (316 via internet and
208 hard copies). |
 |
387 (73.7%) of responses were from Gibson’s residents, 86
(16.4 %) were from Elphinstone and the balance (51 or 9.7%) live elsewhere. |
 |
82.1% of respondents were residential property owners. |
 |
The majority (77%) have lived in the area more than 6 years |
 |
For all respondents: 59.4%
prefer Option B (No waterfront) and 40.6% prefer Option A (Waterfront) |

Of the Gibson’s residents or business owners: 59.9%
preferred Option B (No waterfront) while 40.1% preferred Option A (waterfront). |

Of the Elphinstone residents: 51.2% preferred Option B (No
waterfront) while 48.8% preferred Option A (Waterfront development). |
