Process to date
The Town created a survey in May to gauge residents of Gibsons thoughts on signage in the Town. This information was relayed to Council at the July 7 Committee-of-the-Whole.

Resident and business owner input was used to create a first draft Sign Bylaw, which was sent to Council’s July 21 Committee of the Whole.

Staff have made some amendments to the draft after speaking with business owners in the Town of Gibsons, and are now soliciting input on the proposed new Sign Bylaw, in order to create a final document that will hopefully be forwarded to Council in early 2016.

November 17, 2015 Committee-of-the-Whole meeting: Draft Sign Bylaw

After a legal review, staff finalized the draft Sign Bylaw and sent the Bylaw to Council for First Reading.

April 19, 2016 Staff Report and Bylaw for First Reading

The summer was used to gain community input on the proposed Sign Bylaw, Staff made some minor changes in light of the input received. The Bylaw was sent to Council for second and third Reading.

November 15, 2016 Staff Report and Bylaw for Second and Third Reading.
