Water Restrictions

WATER ZONES 3 & 4 NOW ON STAGE 4 WATER RESTRICTIONS (ZONES 1 & 2 REMAIN AT STAGE 2)

Please be advised that Upper Gibsons residents (Zones 3 and 4) have moved to Stage 4 watering restrictions effective immediately and until further notice. This is consistent with the SCRD. Lower Gibsons (Zones 1 and 2), supplied by the Gibsons Aquifer, will remain at Stage 2 restrictions until further notice. Thank you for your continued efforts to conserve water!

STAGE 4 RESTRICTIONS - BANS THE FOLLOWING:

  • Tap water for any outdoor water use, this includes tap water through garden hoses, watering cans, irrigation systems or laid sprinklers
  • Filling swimming pools, hot tubs, wading pools, garden ponds and fountains
  • Washing driveways, sidewalks, vehicles, boats or other equipment
  • Use of power washers

The following table outlines the restrictions at each stage. Stage one is automatically implemented on May 1st and ends on September 30th. Depending on conditions Stage 2, 3 or 4 may be implemented. Check back for updates.

The time for establishing new lawns is spring. Permits for extra watering of a new lawn are sold during Stage 1 (Normal) outdoor water use. Permits are available for 21 day periods at the Town Hall for $35.
