The Gibsons Business Watch (GBW) was formed to support small business within the Town of Gibsons, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is a volunteer-driven program, which provides the Town’s bylaw services with additional eyes and ears in Gibsons’ business areas.
Under the direction and control of the Town’s Director of Corporate Services, volunteers will monitor Gibsons’ commercial areas from their vehicles and report any criminal or suspicious activity to a designated phone number or the RCMP.
The safety of the GBW volunteers is paramount. Accordingly, they will not become actively involved in any situations that they observe. Detailed operating procedures have been developed for the program, and failure to follow these procedures could result in dismissal from the program.
