Bill Beamish has worked as a senior administrator for the Province of BC and local governments in British Columbia for more than 40 years. He moved to Gibsons with his wife and family in 2002 and worked for five years as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Gibsons.

Since ‘retiring’ in 2007, Bill has been providing services to local governments, not-for-profit organisations and incorporated societies including: the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity; the CAO  for the Village of Queen Charlotte; Project Manager for the Greater Masset Development Corporation; the District of Sechelt (twice as an interim CAO); the Peace River Regional District; Sechelt Downtown Business Association; CAO for the Hamlet of Tuktoyktuk; and, Capacity Builder for the Tuktoyaktuk Development Corporation.

Bill has a Diploma from the University of Victoria in Public Administration, a Certificate of Excellence from the Province of BC for Administration and has competed many courses and programs in Project Management, Labour Relations and other aspects of administration.
