Green Yard Waste Depot - Town of Gibsons

The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) operates a Green Yard Waste Drop-Off Depot at 915 Henry Road (near Reed Road).

Note: This facility has a max allowable of 4 cubic metres (approximately 1 pickup truck). Larger loads must be brought to Salish Soils or the Pender Harbour Transfer Station.

Hours:
Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Closed Statutory Holidays, including Boxing Day.

Acceptable items:
  • Tree and hedge prunings up to 20 cm (8″) in diameter
  • Garden plants
  • Grass clippings
  • Pine needles and cones
  • Windfall fruit (or can go in your food waste/green bin)
  • Check here for the invasives that are accepted.
Unacceptable items are:
  • Dead animals
  • Dirt
  • Logs
  • Sod
  • Stones
  • Stumps
  • Trees (except Christmas trees, which are accepted in January each year)
  • *Knotweeds
  • *Leafy Spurge

*Invasive species are easily spread through transport and some can cause physical harm. Before you begin removal contact a professional to learn about a particular species. Quick visual for what is not accepted at a green waste drop off site is linked here.
