Disposing of Dead Wildlife - Town of Gibsons

Unfortunately, living close to nature sometimes means encountering dead wildlife.

For deceased animals found on public land or at the roadside within the Town of Gibsons, please contact Town Hall at 604.886.2274 for removal.

Dead wildlife on private property may be buried or brought to the Sechelt Landfill. Please be aware that there is a charge associated for the disposal depending on the weight of the animal.

Additionally, dead animals are considered “controlled waste” and must be kept separate from other garbage. Do not place dead animals in the garbage for curbside collection.

To understand wildlife health, the Province of BC needs information about the diseases and parasites that occur in individuals and populations. To report sick or dead animals to the Province of BC, please click here.
