The Town of Gibsons is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Chief Election Official for the 2026 General Local Election.

This independent contractor role will oversee the administration of the election process, ensuring it is conducted fairly, transparently, and in compliance with provincial legislation. The successful candidate will lead election planning, coordinate required voting opportunities and timelines, oversee election operations, support the coordination of the School Trustee election, and complete required post-election reporting.

The Chief Election Official will work independently in this statutory role, with support from Town staff for communications, logistics, records management, facilities, and election supplies.

Applicants should have previous experience administering local government elections in British Columbia, strong knowledge of election legislation, and demonstrated project management, organizational, and communication skills.
