New Crosswalks & Extension of Multi-use Path

Two projects are being completed this month as part of the ongoing Active Transportation Upgrades in Town. These projects are grant-funded by the Tourism Dependent Community Fund.

The projects are as follows:

1. Installation of New Crosswalks in Town – Beginning as March 13, 2024
Several new crosswalks will be installed to improve accessibility for all pedestrians across Town of Gibsons. This includes:
– Two locations along the Up and Down Trail (Abbs Road and Sargent Road). View the planned locations.
– The intersection of Glassford Road and Gower Point Road (across from Dougall Park)  View the planned location.

2. Multi-Use Path Extension on Venture Way – Beginning March 18, 2024
The existing multi-use path will be extended past 1038 Venture Way to improve accessibility for all users along this corridor. This will involve pavements works, and upgrades to the drainage and stormwater system. Construction is scheduled to start on March 18, 2024, and will take 2 weeks to complete.
