Gibsons & District Volunteer Fire Department

The fire department provides services to the public in the form of fire suppression, emergency medical first response, rescue, extrication, hazardous materials control, fire prevention, public education, public assistance and mutual aid. Learn more about the GPFD here.

Emergency Preparedness

The Town of Gibsons, District of Sechelt, and shíshálh Nation have joined the SCRD to form one integrated emergency program, known as the Sunshine Coast Emergency Program (SCEP). Municipal and regional district staff along with volunteers, first responders, first nations and non-government agencies plan, train, and exercise together to be ready for the next large-scale emergency or disaster.
