Town of Gibsons Welcomes New Director of Finance, William Wallace

June 27, 2024 – The Town of Gibsons is pleased to announce that William Wallace will be joining our team as the new Director of Finance, effective July 8.

William Wallace is relocating from Smithers, BC, where he has been serving as the Director of Finance. His extensive experience includes roles as Chief Financial Officer at the City of Williams Lake and Director of Finance at the District of Houston. Additionally, William has held senior-level finance positions at various BC crown corporations and a global local government sustainability association.

William brings with him a Bachelor of Commerce degree, a CPA/CA accounting designation, and a wealth of professional development coursework in leadership and finance. His diverse background and deep understanding of local government finance make him an ideal fit for our community.

As we welcome William, we also wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lorraine, who is retiring. Lorraine’s tremendous dedication and commitment have been invaluable to our organization, and we wish her all the best in her retirement. We are deeply grateful for her continued support during the transition period.
