Skyline Drive – Watermain Replacement & Road Repaving
The Town of Gibsons is moving ahead with important infrastructure upgrades on Skyline Drive to improve water service reliability and road conditions.
Project Overview
What’s Happening:
Replacement of the water main and full road repaving.
Where:
Skyline Drive – from Headlands Road to the top of the hill where it tees (see map/picture below).
If the budget allows, upgrades may also extend to:
- Avalon Drive
- Allion Way
- Shoal Lookout
Why:
The existing water main and road surface are in poor condition. This upgrade will:
- Improve water service reliability
- Increase fire flow capacity
- Enhance overall road safety and drivability
Timeline:
- RFP Posted: April 14, 2025
- Contract Award: Scheduled for May 20, 2025 (Council decision)
- Construction Start Date: To be confirmed once contract is awarded
