The Planning & Development department provides coordinated service delivery for all aspects of short and long-term planning and development within the Town of Gibsons. The Town’s Official Community Plan and other bylaws provide a framework for the Town’s evolution, providing guidance for Council decisions and development applications.
The majority of the Planning Department’s work is covered under Part 26 of the Local Government Act including:
- requirements of the Official Community Plan
- Board of Variance
- zoning regulations
- regulation of signs
- designation of Development Permit Applications
- Development Variance Permits
- subdivision and development requirements
