Join us in helping to preserve this important piece of our Canadian heritage

Save the Persephone is committed to restoring and celebrating the iconic Persephone boat from The Beachcombers TV series. By safeguarding this beloved symbol of our coastal heritage, we aim to create a lasting tribute that connects generations and honours Gibsons’ rich cultural legacy.

Our plans include the complete restoration of the Persephone and the construction of an accessible weather-protected shelter where the boat will remain on public display for our community and visitors to enjoy.

For the entire project, we will need approximately $775,000 for the boat restoration and the construction of a home. We are seeking public donations to help us get there, but are also actively applying for grants and seeking other funding opportunities.

Together, we can ensure that the Persephone remains a source of pride, connection and a celebration of our maritime roots.

How you can help

We invite you to join us in our mission and be a part of The Beachcombers’ legacy!

By contributing to the Save the Persephone fund, you will help us restore this beloved vessel to its original condition and create a dedicated display that will safeguard it from the elements for many years to come.

Donations of $200 or more will be recognized alongside the boat, with the size of each acknowledgment reflecting the value of the donation.

*Further donor recognition to be announced.
