The Town of Gibsons’ residential “Spring Clean-Up” program runs from June 1st to August 31st each year.
Annual coupons are mailed to all residential property owners in May along with their utilities notice, and entitle the coupon holder to bring one truckload (up to 450 kgs) of unwanted items to the Gibsons Recycling Depot at no charge, during the months of June, July and August.
*Please note: only one coupon per property will be issued.
What can I drop off?
Each coupon permits the holder to drop ONE truck load of up to 450 kgs of acceptable items, such as furniture, toys, clothing and other household articles, at the Gibsons Recycling Depot at no charge.
Many Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) items, such as cell phones, electronics and batteries are also accepted. For more information on EPR programs in BC, please visit: www.rcbc.ca/recycling-programs/epr.
If you are unsure whether an item is acceptable, please confirm with staff at the Gibsons Recycling Depot.
Restricted Items
The following items will not be accepted:
- NO regular household garbage
- NO gypsum
- NO freon (e.g. fridges, air conditioners, etc.)
- NO wood or construction waste
- NO vinyl/duroid/metal roofing, etc.
- NO bulk items (e.g. boats)
- NO heating oil tanks or propane tanks
- NO windows or doors
- NO fishing nets
- NO tires
- NO mattresses

Open: Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. & Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Materials in the load must be deposited in the appropriate locations at the site. Staff will be on hand to assist you if needed.
