Support rental housing.
6.1 Complete Shaw Road Affordable Housing Project – Phase #1.
Construction is underway to complete phase 1 of the project. A second phase is also being planned and it includes child-care spaces as well.

6.3 Initiate three more non-profit projects this term.
Shaw Rd Phase 2 moving along very well. Other possibilities include Legion, Community Services, VCH collaboration. We’ve also started renting/managing units through EDH.

Staff worked with Finance to reduce utility and garbage collection fees for secondary suites to support them. Planning staff are working with developers to encourage rentals.
